"As soon as we looked at Kippure as a venue, we stopped looking. It offered everything we wanted for our weekend. We both enjoy the outdoors and had joked about getting married on top of a mountain, Kippure estate is about as close to that as you can get. Everybody loved the stunning location surrounded by mountain views.
Excellent self catering accommodation meant all our guests could stay on site. We had our own little party village in the middle of the mountains! We wanted an outdoor ceremony and the staff were extremely helpful and suggested plenty of options. We also needed a plan B in case of bad weather which kept the staff on their toes but we were confident that they would take care of us no matter what happened and they did. We had a BBQ with a spit-roast pig and the food was absolutely great. Some guests felt it was the best wedding meal they had ever had!
We also did the activities the day after and stayed a second night. The staff looked after us superbly all weekend. From personal service to great food and a relaxed country bar, with everybody in their own accommodation, Kippure offers a relaxed, intimate alternative to a normal hotel wedding. It was perfect!" “We chose Kippure Estate for its stunning location mostly but also it meant we could all stay on site and make a weekend of it. It was great that we could use the whole building, function room, bar area and rooms around the bar; they were close to each other and excellent for the feel of space and change of scenery. It was very good value for money for both the function room and the private houses. I didn’t want the traditional, impersonal hotel wedding that I’ve attended so many times in the past. I wanted something a bit different and more homely with a relaxed feel to it. Where the children could be relaxed and have fun without worrying about being too noisy. It was the place I felt would achieve all that I wanted and much more.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful and really made my weekend special. All my guests had a great time and are still talking about it now, which is always the sign of a good wedding. The staff are excellent, the houses wonderful and the location breathtaking. I would recommend Kippure Estate to anyone planning to get married. "Kippure ticked all our boxes. We had planned a very low key intimate wedding for family and close friends. Kippure offered a traditional style wedding but when we asked to have a summer BBQ for our reception the staff were eager to help. I cannot imagine a better location for my wedding, with mountains as our back drop for family photos and the river Liffey for the more intimate ones of just the two of us. As half our family were coming from Australia we used the self catering accommodation and the B&B style accommodation for the local family and friends.
